Destiny 2 The Gauntlet Guide

Monument of Triumph is Destiny 2's final live-service content update, launching June 9, 2026. The Gauntlet is a specific milestone within it — Bungie's official name for the Pantheon 2.0 full boss-rush activity dropping June 13, where you run every boss encounter back-to-back in a single session. Not two bosses. Not a rotation. All of them. Think of it as Bungie's way of saying goodbye — with extreme prejudice.

Within Moments of Triumph, completing The Gauntlet is a Triumph requirement toward the MMXXVI seal. You need 26 of the 30 available Triumphs to earn the title. The Gauntlet is one of the heavier ones. It is not retroactive and it cannot be skipped if you want the seal before the lights go out.

How to Complete The Gauntlet

The Pantheon boss rush in Monument of Triumph runs across three difficulty tiers. Pick the one that matches your tolerance for suffering.

The Triumph requires completing The Gauntlet from start to finish in a single run — any difficulty counts. Adventure difficulty exists for a reason. Use it if your fireteam is struggling. The Triumph does not care about your pride.

Step-by-Step

  1. Wait for June 13, 2026. The activity is not available before then.
  2. Open the Director. Navigate to the Pantheon 2.0 node — it is not hidden.
  3. Select The Gauntlet (full run). Assemble your fireteam of up to six players.
  4. Complete every boss encounter without abandoning the session.
  5. Claim your Tier 5 rewards and Triumph credit automatically upon completion.

Moments of Triumph Reward Thresholds

The Gauntlet contributes to your total Triumph count for the MMXXVI Moments of Triumph seal. Here is where each milestone lands.

You need 26 of 30 Triumphs for the MMXXVI title. Completing The Gauntlet alone does not get you there. However, most Triumphs in Monument of Triumph are retroactive — if you have played through the year, many are already credited. Open your Triumphs tab before panicking.

Practical Notes

  • The Legendary Marks system returns with Monument of Triumph. Farm them via Triumphs and spend on ornaments, weapon engrams, and accessories.
  • Custom difficulty with active Feats guarantees extra drops and pushes toward masterwork-tier upgrades. Do it if you need gear, not just the Triumph.
  • After June 16, weekly encounter rotations let you revisit single bosses. This is your farming loop post-Gauntlet completion.
  • All pre-Monument raids and dungeons now have full Tier parity — Salvation's Edge, Vesper's Host, Sundered Doctrine. Other Triumphs for those are also retroactive.
  • Destiny 2 remains online after Monument of Triumph launches. The content update ends; the game does not.

Destiny 2 The Gauntlet Guide FAQ

Does The Gauntlet require a full fireteam of six?

No. You can run it with fewer players. Solo is possible on Adventure difficulty, though inadvisable and miserable.

Is The Gauntlet Triumph retroactive if I cleared earlier Pantheon bosses?

No. The Gauntlet requires a full run after June 13. Prior Pantheon completions do not count toward this specific Triumph.

Can I still earn the MMXXVI seal after Monument of Triumph ends?

No. Once the event window closes, the seal and its Triumphs lock. Already-earned rewards can still be claimed briefly after.

Do I need to purchase any DLC to access The Gauntlet?

Monument of Triumph is available to all players. No additional DLC purchase is required to run The Gauntlet.

What happens to Destiny 2 after Monument of Triumph?

The game stays live and playable. Bungie ends active content development and shifts focus to their next project.
