The Destiny 2 Monument of Triumph update: patch 9.7.0, June 9, 2026: is the last major content drop Bungie will ever ship. 71 pages of patch notes. 28 exotic weapons adjusted. 25 brand-new exotic catalysts added to weapons that apparently didn't deserve one until the final hour.
Hey, Guardian. We do not have specific offers for Momentum… and as our sorry, we provide you a CRINGEBLOG promocode, it works for every offer. And you can create your custom offer for Momentum almost free.
Every single exotic in the game now has a catalyst. Not all of them are good. Some are spectacular. A few represent the game Destiny 2 could have been five years ago if Bungie had shipped their homework on time. You don't get to be angry about that. You get to enjoy it now, which is what we're doing.
Magazine goes from 10 to 15. Zen Moment removed. Shoot to Loot and Firefly added as base traits. The Jade Rabbit catalyst converts your Fate of All Fools stacks: capped at 15 now: into a Micro Missile on special reload. Precision kills add stacks. Stacks survive reloads. Body shots remove one stack. The missile's damage scales with stacks. One tap a champion with a full stack Micro Missile is not an unreasonable outcome. The math is cruel and we are here for it.
Already the most satisfying submachine gun to shoot. Now has Chain Reaction as a catalyst perk. The chain explosion perk on a weapon that already chains. If you were defending the honor of Riskrunner before this patch, it's time to grieve and move on.
Incandescent and Burning Ambition both added as catalyst perks. Base handling up 20. This is the best Solar add-clear exotic weapon in the game post-patch: you ignite things, you spread scorch, you push further ignitions. It runs itself. Use it.
Full-auto mode now has a more potent version of Rewind Rounds. Linear fusion precision kills trigger ignition. After leaving linear fusion mode, the magazine auto-reloads. The sustained-damage Vex Mythoclast catalyst activation means you no longer need kills to maintain the loop. You just need to hold the trigger, which is something most players are already doing. Solar builds pairing Vex with Dawn Chorus or Shieldburst now have a credible ignition engine in the primary slot.
Final round bonus damage up 10%. Special reload speed buffed. Rapid Hit replaced with Precision Instrument in the catalyst. This scout rifle has always had the damage. Now it has the damage and the stability to land it. Solo players and endgame content: noted.

The previous nerf was reverted by 70%. Most of the final combo damage and self-healing are back. If you told someone six months ago this was coming, they would have called it cope. Do not waste the moment.
Traps last 50% longer. Damage to scorch combatants grants 33% more Ravenous Beast progress. Anarchy's best days were people calling it broken at a raid boss in 2019. This is a quieter version of that energy, and it still works.
Seekers now apply scorch on hit (+15 base, +5 per precision hit), with hidden tracking toward targets hit by precision damage. The catalyst adds increased hipfire accuracy. The Hierarchy of Needs bow build is real. The fact that this is a sentence is stunning.
Dealing damage to scorch combatants grants 33% increased Ravenous Beast progress. Pair with any Solar scorch loop. The beast feeds faster than ever and you still owe it to yourself to try this in a Nightfall.
Mouse and keyboard users get +10% stability and +10% hipfire aim assist. PC Last Word PvP meta is being telegraphed. Controller players will watch this happen.
Bolt charge now granted even when you're airborne. Mechanized Autoloader works while stowed and max ammo goes 5→8. A Warcliff Coil endgame build is something you can now say with a straight face.
Praxic Blade had its balance-form ammo generation cut in half and now requires rapid blocks in defensive form instead of just blocking. Combined with Strongholds losing synergy, the lightsaber era is technically over. The weapon still functions. The dominance does not.
Outbreak Perfected's max nanite stash bonus went from 4.5x to 4x. If you were the Guardian screaming at your raid team to swap to Outbreak mid-damage phase for the bonus, consider that nobody liked you for that and the universe has responded accordingly.
Reduced damage, reduced blast radius, reduced Super generation. If your loadout was built entirely around a rocket pulse exotic before this patch, Monument of Triumph did not negotiate with you.
Anti-Champion is now frame-intrinsic. No artifact mods. Aggressive and High Impact frames are Unstoppable. Precision and Adaptive are Barrier. Lightweight and Rapid-Fire are Overload. This means anti-champion weapons Destiny 2 is no longer a question you answer with seasonal mods: it's a question you answer when you pick your weapon archetype. A third of the exotic pool just became endgame-viable without any additional setup.
Every exotic now has a catalyst. 25 are new. 9 are upgraded from stat-only versions to actual perks. The remaining 16 were not previewed before launch. Discovering what they do is the only scavenger hunt Bungie left you with.
Legendary primary weapons deal 30% more PvE damage against minor combatants. Exotic primaries: 40%. Bows additionally get +20% versus minors and +40% versus majors. The Destiny 2 exotic primary weapon meta shift in Monument of Triumph is not subtle. Scout rifles, hand cannons, and bows are all meaningfully better than they were yesterday.
Yes. 25 are new, 9 are upgraded. All were added in Monument of Triumph, regardless of weapon age.
Chain Reaction on a weapon with built-in chaining. Yes. Grieve your old favorite and move on.
Damage scales with all 15 stacks. One-tapping a champion is plausible. Exact numbers require testing.
It functions. It's no longer dominant. Heirloom crossbow now competes directly in the same content.
No. The game remains playable. Bungie stops new content development. Maintenance mode only.
