Warlock Double Nova Bomb Build

Bungie used Destiny 2's final live update, Monument of Triumph, to rework Skull of Dire Ahamkara in the most irresponsible way possible. Fire a Nova Bomb: Cataclysm, then immediately fire a second Nova Bomb: Lance at it. The collision triple-detonates. That's not a bug. That's the feature. You're welcome.

Combined with Devour and Bad Juju pumping Super energy back after every kill, this overpowered Warlock build Destiny 2 players have been begging for has finally arrived. On demand. For the last time.

The mechanic: Skull of Dire Ahamkara now grants a second, instant-charge Nova Bomb: Lance cast after your initial throw. Fire Lance directly into Cataclysm for a triple-detonation. Each detonation counts as Nova Bomb kills, feeding Actual Grandeur's Super refund back into the loop.

Build Sheet

Void Warlock (Voidwalker), Prismatic works but Voidwalker gets more out of Devour's native synergy and the new Soul Siphon aspect.

Nova Bomb: Cataclysm. Slow, seeking, explodes into seeker fragments. Maximizes kill count, and kill count is Super energy.

Slot

Choice

Why

Exotic Helmet

Skull of Dire Ahamkara

Grants second Nova Bomb cast. 5% Super energy per kill. Damage resist during cast.

Grenade

Vortex Grenade

Pull enemies into the blast radius. Feeds Devour on kills.

Melee

Pocket Singularity

Long range. Triggers Devour on kill.

Class Ability

Healing Rift

You shouldn't need this much with Devour, but it's there when you forget to play.

Aspects

Aspect

Effect

Feed the Void

Void ability kills grant Devour. The entire loop starts here.

Soul Siphon NEW

Powered melee drain, Overshield + class ability energy from up to 4 enemies. Free energy. Free shield.

Fragments

Fragment

Stat

Effect

Echo of Instability

+10 Strength

Grenade kills grant Volatile Rounds. More Void explosions.

Echo of Domineering

+10 Discipline

Suppressing an enemy drops Special ammo. Fuels uptime.

Echo of Persistence

+10 Recovery

Devour lasts longer. Self-explanatory.

Echo of Harvest

Precision kills with Volatile targets create Orbs of Power. Stat buffs for the team, Super juice for you.

Weapons

The destiny 2 best builds june 2026 consensus is unanimous: Bad Juju is mandatory. String of Curses stacks on every kill, grants Super energy, and keeps Devour alive. It does not care what subclass you're running.

Slot

Weapon

Reason

Kinetic

Bad Juju (Exotic)

Every kill charges String of Curses, which feeds Super. Non-negotiable.

Energy

Void SMG w/ Volatile Rounds

Procs Volatile from Echo of Instability. Keep Devour rolling between supers.

Heavy

Linear Fusion or Sword

Boss DPS. You have two Nova Bombs, the heavy is for what survives.

Armor Mods

Stats priority: Recovery > Resilience > Discipline. Recovery for Rift cooldown, Resilience because dying resets Devour, Discipline for grenade uptime. Nothing else matters until those three are capped.

  • Helmet: Siphon (Void), Orbs of Power on Void kills
  • Arms: Grenade Kickstart x2, free grenade charges when you're running on Orbs
  • Chest: Resistance mods matching the activity
  • Legs: Void Surge x2, 22% Void damage bonus, stacks with Devour weaken
  • Class Item: Bomber x2, grenade energy on Rift activation, negligible but free

The Loop

This is the warlock Monument of Triumph build loop. It's not complicated. It's just relentless.

  1. Get Devour active via any ability kill or Orb of Power.
  2. Spam Bad Juju kills, String of Curses and Actual Grandeur stack simultaneously.
  3. Cast Nova Bomb: Cataclysm into a group.
  4. Immediately fire the bonus Nova Bomb: Lance directly at the Cataclysm. Triple detonation.
  5. Each kill from the detonation refunds 5% Super energy via Actual Grandeur.
  6. 10 kills = 50% Super refunded. Bad Juju fills the other half before the cooldown even registers.
  7. Repeat.

Super refund math: Cataclysm has strong seek tracking and fragments into multiple projectiles. A good cast into a dense wave can net 8–12 kills per detonation. Triple detonation means up to 36 qualifying hits. At 5% per kill, that's theoretically 180% Super energy returned, the cap is 50%, but you'll hit it almost every cast. Bad Juju closes the gap in seconds.

Stat Targets

Stat

Target

Priority

Recovery

100

Rift cooldown. Hard cap it.

Resilience

100

Damage threshold. Don't die mid-loop.

Discipline

80–100

Grenade uptime feeds Devour kills.

Strength

40–60

Melee for Soul Siphon procs. Mid-priority.

Intellect

Skip

Actual Grandeur + Bad Juju make this stat redundant.

Mobility

Skip

You're a Warlock. You don't get nice things here.

Why This Exists Now

Monument of Triumph dropped June 9, 2026, Destiny 2's final live-service update. The patch notes ran 71 pages. Among the changes: Skull of Dire Ahamkara received the ability to cast Nova Bomb: Lance immediately after the initial throw. The two collide. They triple-detonate. Nobody in the community saw it coming.

Bungie also added Soul Siphon as a new Voidwalker aspect, a powered melee drain that pulls Overshield and class ability energy from nearby enemies simultaneously. It plugs directly into the downtime between super casts, making the double nova bomb build even more oppressive than the raw numbers suggest.

Ward of Dawn was also significantly reworked, doubled in size, repositionable twice, and applies a debuff to enemies inside it. Irrelevant to this build, but worth noting if your fireteam includes a Titan who still hasn't read patch notes.

Warlock Double Nova Bomb Build FAQ

Do I need Prismatic for this build?

No. Voidwalker is better here. Prismatic loses Feed the Void's native efficiency. Run it only if you need Transcendence for a specific activity.

Where do I get Skull of Dire Ahamkara?

Exotic drops, Xur's weekly rotation, or Legend/Master Lost Sectors. Farm Lost Sectors on Helmet days for targeted drops.

Does the triple-detonation work in PvP?

Technically yes. Practically, you'll fire the Lance into empty space while your target's already respawned. Stick to PvE.

What's the best activity to run this in?

Dense-enemy content, Onslaught, Legend Lost Sectors, Nightfalls. The loop collapses on low-density encounters with sparse kill counts.

Is Bad Juju replaceable?

No. Nothing else stacks Super energy generation the same way with Actual Grandeur. It's not a slot; it's structural.
