Bungie used Destiny 2's final live update, Monument of Triumph, to rework Skull of Dire Ahamkara in the most irresponsible way possible. Fire a Nova Bomb: Cataclysm, then immediately fire a second Nova Bomb: Lance at it. The collision triple-detonates. That's not a bug. That's the feature. You're welcome.
Combined with Devour and Bad Juju pumping Super energy back after every kill, this overpowered Warlock build Destiny 2 players have been begging for has finally arrived. On demand. For the last time.
The mechanic: Skull of Dire Ahamkara now grants a second, instant-charge Nova Bomb: Lance cast after your initial throw. Fire Lance directly into Cataclysm for a triple-detonation. Each detonation counts as Nova Bomb kills, feeding Actual Grandeur's Super refund back into the loop.
Void Warlock (Voidwalker), Prismatic works but Voidwalker gets more out of Devour's native synergy and the new Soul Siphon aspect.
Nova Bomb: Cataclysm. Slow, seeking, explodes into seeker fragments. Maximizes kill count, and kill count is Super energy.

The destiny 2 best builds june 2026 consensus is unanimous: Bad Juju is mandatory. String of Curses stacks on every kill, grants Super energy, and keeps Devour alive. It does not care what subclass you're running.

Linear Fusion or Sword |
Boss DPS. You have two Nova Bombs, the heavy is for what survives. |
Stats priority: Recovery > Resilience > Discipline. Recovery for Rift cooldown, Resilience because dying resets Devour, Discipline for grenade uptime. Nothing else matters until those three are capped.
This is the warlock Monument of Triumph build loop. It's not complicated. It's just relentless.
Super refund math: Cataclysm has strong seek tracking and fragments into multiple projectiles. A good cast into a dense wave can net 8–12 kills per detonation. Triple detonation means up to 36 qualifying hits. At 5% per kill, that's theoretically 180% Super energy returned, the cap is 50%, but you'll hit it almost every cast. Bad Juju closes the gap in seconds.

You're a Warlock. You don't get nice things here. |
Monument of Triumph dropped June 9, 2026, Destiny 2's final live-service update. The patch notes ran 71 pages. Among the changes: Skull of Dire Ahamkara received the ability to cast Nova Bomb: Lance immediately after the initial throw. The two collide. They triple-detonate. Nobody in the community saw it coming.
Bungie also added Soul Siphon as a new Voidwalker aspect, a powered melee drain that pulls Overshield and class ability energy from nearby enemies simultaneously. It plugs directly into the downtime between super casts, making the double nova bomb build even more oppressive than the raw numbers suggest.
Ward of Dawn was also significantly reworked, doubled in size, repositionable twice, and applies a debuff to enemies inside it. Irrelevant to this build, but worth noting if your fireteam includes a Titan who still hasn't read patch notes.
No. Voidwalker is better here. Prismatic loses Feed the Void's native efficiency. Run it only if you need Transcendence for a specific activity.
Exotic drops, Xur's weekly rotation, or Legend/Master Lost Sectors. Farm Lost Sectors on Helmet days for targeted drops.
Technically yes. Practically, you'll fire the Lance into empty space while your target's already respawned. Stick to PvE.
Dense-enemy content, Onslaught, Legend Lost Sectors, Nightfalls. The loop collapses on low-density encounters with sparse kill counts.
No. Nothing else stacks Super energy generation the same way with Actual Grandeur. It's not a slot; it's structural.
