Black Ops Season 2 Top 250 Event Guide

Your Season 02 Skill Rating was frozen on March 25 at 9 PM PT / Midnight ET March 26. Your final rank has been locked. The Ranked Series is a separate competitive sprint on top of your frozen standing.

The Season 02 Ranked Series is Black Ops 7's inaugural end-of-season competitive showdown — a six-day ladder sprint replacing normal Ranked Play. Instead of grinding SR, every eligible player is automatically enrolled into a Competitive Ladder based on their final Season 02 rank. The goal: claw your way to the #1 spot in your ladder before time runs out.

Note: Once the Ranked Series ends on March 31, Ranked Play goes completely offline in both Black Ops 7 and Warzone until Season 03 begins on April 2.

Every competitor is placed into a ladder matching their final Season 02 rank. Ladders are isolated — you only compete against players who ended the season at your exact rank tier.

Auto-Enrollment: No sign-up required. All eligible players are automatically enrolled based on their March 25 frozen rank snapshot.

Black Ops Season 2 Top 250 Event Guide | Scoring

Unlike regular Ranked Play's SR system, the Ranked Series uses flat Ladder Points. Every match is binary: win or lose. There are no performance bonuses, no placement modifiers — just the scoreboard.

+31: Ladder Points — Win

−21: Ladder Points — Loss

The net gain of +10 LP per win streak means consistent winning snowballs quickly. A five-match win streak puts you +155 LP ahead. Drop one game and you're at +134. Maintain momentum.

Party rules: Crimson rank and above — max 2-player parties only. Diamond and below can run full squads of four (within rank restrictions). Solo queue is available at all tiers.

Rewards are tiered by ladder placement. All rewards are exclusive to Season 02 and cannot be earned after the event closes. Participation rewards are available to everyone who competes.

Stack Your Squad Early

Form a reliable duo (or solo if Crimson+) and grind the first two days hard. Early ladders have less momentum — position counts most in the opening hours.

Win Streaks Are King

With +31 on a win and −21 on a loss, maintaining a 3+ win streak nets +90 LP minimum before any loss. Momentum is the meta.

Use Map Veto Strategically

Before each match, three map/mode combos appear. Vote to veto the one your team is weakest on. Consistent map control = consistent wins.

Track the Leaderboard Daily

The ladder is visible in-game via the Ranked Play menu. Know where you stand. If you're Top 5, protect it. If you're Top 25, push harder.

Manage Tilt — Use the Forfeit

If your team is getting blown out, call a Forfeit. All four players must agree. Cutting a bad game short saves time and protects mental state for the next match.

CDL Settings Apply

Ranked Series uses CDL competitive settings — same maps, modes, and restrictions as the Call of Duty League. Warm up on competitive modes before the sprint starts.

Top 250: Expect Longer Queue Times

Treyarch patched matchmaking to prioritize Iridescent/Top 250 vs same-rank opponents. Queue times will be longer — don't dodge lobbies, it's worth the wait for fair matchups.
