Arc Raiders Search Androids Trial: 3-Star Guide

The Arc Raiders Search Androids trial is exactly as glamorous as it sounds: you walk up to dead machines pretending to be people, press a button, and collect points for it. No boss fight, no timer, no dignity required. This is the easiest of the five Season 5 objectives, which is precisely why Embark buried it behind a map most players still can't navigate without crying.

What the trial actually wants from you

Forget lore. The androids are loot containers wearing a corpse costume, scattered across Stella Montis, and only some of them are interactable on any given raid. You do not need to take their items. You do not need to feel anything about it. Interact, get points, move to the next one. That is the entire design document.

Every android body on the map sits in one of three states, and the game will not tell you which until you're standing next to it. Some are visibly wrecked and simply decorative. Some are "animated" — they twitch and shriek the moment you approach, which does nothing for your score but does a great job of announcing your exact position to every other Raider on the map. The rest are quietly searchable, worth points, and indistinguishable from the first two until you walk up and press the button. This is functionally the same random-interact mechanic as the old Search Kitchen Cabinets trial, just wearing a nicer coat of paint.

Reality check: Season 5 removed the old 2x multiplier from map conditions. Night Raids, storms, none of that doubles your Android points anymore. What you see per search is what you get. Grind accordingly.

Where to find them (so you stop wasting raids)

Every guide, past and present, agrees on one thing: the Medical Research Facility Arc Raiders zone in the southwest of Stella Montis' upper layer is the densest android cluster in the game. It's well-lit, simple to navigate, and doesn't require a PhD in tunnel logic to reach, which by Stella Montis standards makes it basically a tutorial level.

Zone

Density

Notes

Control Rooms

Medium

Two rooms, usually one searchable body each

Seed Vault

High

Needs a Fuel Cell for the west door; worth clearing fully

Cultural / Archives

High

Dense cluster, locked side-rooms are empty, skip them

Business Center

Medium

A few scattered, plus one in the reception/auditorium

Lobby

Medium

Quick pass on the way between zones

Security Wing

High

Roughly four in one area, plus reception spillover

Atrium / Cafeteria

Low

Thin, only two or so, don't linger

Medical Research Facility

High

Multiple rooms, well lit, easiest to navigate

Loading Bay

High

Best saved for last, tends to spawn a Bastion or Vaporizer

Tunnel / Bridge

Low

Two or three stragglers on the way to extraction

Which specific bodies are searchable resets every single raid, with no visible pattern — one solo run tested nearly every zone on the map and confirmed it's genuinely random rather than tied to a fixed rotation. This is why Stella Montis androids locations spread across ten separate zones instead of one: the game wants you walking, not camping.

The actual 3-star route

  1. Queue into Stella Montis. Free Loadout is fine — you're not extracting loot, you're extracting a checkbox.
  2. Start at Control Rooms, then push into Seed Vault. It's dense enough to clear on its own.
  3. Move through Cultural / Archives, then Business Center, then a quick Lobby pass.
  4. Hit Security Wing next — it's one of the densest single clusters on the map.
  5. Swing through Atrium and Cafeteria. They're thin, don't waste time backtracking here.
  6. Clear Medical Research Facility thoroughly; it has multiple rooms worth checking room by room.
  7. Save Loading Bay for last. It tends to spawn something nasty, so let other Raiders soften it up first if you can.
  8. Pick up any stragglers in the Tunnel and Bridge on your way to the exit, then extract immediately.

A single well-run loop through that order was enough to clear roughly 25 searchable androids solo and land right at 10,000 points — well past three stars, with plenty of margin for the ones that turn out to be broken or the alarm-triggering kind.

This is genuinely how how to search androids in Arc Raiders works: no puzzle, no key, no timer. The only enemy here is your own ability to walk in a straight line without getting murdered by a janitor-bot with anger issues.

Points and thresholds

Per the current Arc Raiders trial points explained breakdown for Season 5, the standard reward tiers sit at 1,000, 2,000, and 3,000 points for Uncommon, Rare, and Epic rewards respectively, claimed automatically on extraction. Community testing puts each successful android search at roughly 400 points, meaning you need around eight clean searches to clear three stars — call it ten to account for the broken bodies and the ones that just scream at you instead of paying out.

1 star

2 stars

2,000

Extraction rule: Die before reaching an exit and every point from that run is erased. No partial credit. No sympathy. Extract the moment you're comfortably over 3,000.

An honest full-run strategy

If you actually want the fastest possible Arc Raiders 3 stars guide outcome and not just a technically-correct one: you don't need the whole map. Ten searchable androids at roughly 400 points each clears three stars with room to spare, so stop the moment your logbook crosses 3,000 instead of finishing the loop out of stubbornness. Do not detour for loot. Do not fight anything that isn't standing between you and the door. The androids don't fight back, but the map absolutely will.

Arc Raiders Search Androids Trial: 3-Star Guide FAQ

Do I need to loot the androids, or just interact?

Just interact. Taking items is optional and irrelevant to trial progress or completion.

Does the trial reset which androids are searchable each raid?

Yes. Searchable bodies change every raid, so scout multiple zones instead of one fixed spot.

Do map conditions double my Android trial points this season?

No. Season 5 removed the 2x multiplier from map conditions entirely for all trials.

What happens if I die before extracting?

All trial points from that raid are erased. Extraction is mandatory, not optional, for credit.

Can I combine Androids with other trials in one raid?

Yes. Stella Montis also spawns containers and ARC enemies, so stack objectives per run.
