WoW Midnight Mythic+ Guide Season 1
Quel'Thalas is back, and so is the mount grind! Prepare to lose your sanity collecting 45 new rides in WoW Midnight. Say goodbye to grass!

Oh, here we are again. Back in Quel'Thalas, the city Blizzard remembered existed approximately six expansions too late. You thought TWW's 500-mount tsunami was a lot? Midnight says "hold my Sunwell crystal" and gives you 45 brand-new mounts at launch alone: hawkstriders, dragonhawks, void monstrosities, giant root-things, and yes, another snail. There is always another snail. So it’s time to view it via WoW Midnight Mounts Guide!
In today's Midnight mount collection guide we cover every single void-soaked and sunwell-blessed ride this elf wonderland has to offer: from the pre-order freebies you already forgot you had, to the Mythic raid trophy you will never see because your guild disbands in week two.
Midnight launches with 45 confirmed mounts in Patch 12.0. Below is the full collection roster. Click any mount name to visit its Wowhead page, where you can stare at the model and convince yourself you'll get it this week.

Mount |
Description |
Edition |
Golden, radiant, magnificent. For champions of the Light and of Blizzard's revenue targets. |
Heroic Edition+ |
The dark twin. For players who selected "villain" as their personal brand. |
Epic Edition |
Cycles between Light and Void visual effects. Blizzard couldn't commit to a theme and made it a feature. |
Epic Edition |
Voidlight Surger: This mount alternates between Lightwing and Voidwing appearances dynamically. If you've been agonizing over your faction of the heart, this mount is your therapist.

The pre-patch shipped us to Twilight Highlands for the Twilight Ascension world event. Yes, Twilight Highlands. The forgotten cataclysm zone. Blizzard finished cleaning out the attic. Three mounts are available: two are event-exclusive and one rewards the obsessive collectors who've been hoarding mounts since 2004. All of these are Limited Time.
Mount |
Description |
How to Obtain |
A freshly deprogrammed bird of doom. Previously chaotic, now merely aggressive and rideable. |
Buy from Materialist Ophinell in Twilight Highlands: 100 Twilight's Blade Insignia. Currency is event-exclusive. |
A Light-blessed mech suit. TWW players are experiencing visceral flashbacks and that's fine. |
Achievement: Two Minutes to Midnight: defeat every unique Rare during the Twilight Ascension event. |
A purple eldritch cat-bird. The universe rewards hoarders. This is not a metaphor. |
New collection achievement: collect 600 mounts usable by a single character. Just 600. Sure. |

Midnight's Delve lineup features new Quel'Thalas-flavored solo dungeons, a nemesis boss named Nullaeus, and a new currency: Undercoins. Spend them wisely. Two mounts require 10,000 each. Start delving immediately and never stop.
Mount |
Description |
How to Obtain |
An arcane golem with a progressing Void infection. The developers call it a character arc. You'll call it a grind reward. |
Achievement: Let Me Solo Him: Nullaeus: defeat the Delve nemesis boss solo. Absolutely not optional if you want this. |
A classic blood elf arcane golem. Your very own magical butler. Costs a lot of Undercoins to butler for you. |
Vendor: Naleidea Rivergleam: 10,000 Undercoins. |
The prestigious variant. It has standards. It requires you to have standards first (Delver's Journey Rank 5). |
Vendor: Telemancer Astrandis: 10,000 Undercoins + Delver's Journey Rank 5. |

It's a new Mythic+ season and there are rating-gated mounts. This has been the case every season since forever and will continue until the sun explodes. Midnight Season 1 adds the classic Keystone Master and Legend mounts, plus a nostalgia-bait drop from the updated Magister's Terrace.
Mount |
Description |

A void-touched carrion bird. The reward for pushing keys until your eyes bleed and your friends block you. |
Achievement: Midnight Keystone Master: Season One: reach 2,000 Mythic+ rating. Seasonal |
The exhausted, post-trauma version of the above. This bird has seen things. So have you. |
Achievement: Midnight Keystone Legend: Season One: reach Keystone Legend tier. Seasonal |
A remastered, radiant hawkstrider from Magister's Terrace. It was beautiful all along. Blizzard just needed 15 years. |
Drop: Degentrius (Mythic Magister's Terrace or Mythic+). RNG-based. Bring patience. |
Midnight launches with three raids: The Dreamrift, Voidspire, and March on Quel'Danas. Two mounts. One is a Mythic raid phoenix with 3 drops for 20 people. The other requires completing every achievement across all three raids. Blizzard sends their regards.
Mount |
Description |
How to Obtain |
A phoenix reborn from Quel'Thalas' eternal fire. Stunning. Rare. Guaranteed to cause guild drama upon distribution. |
Drop: Final boss of March on Quel'Danas (Mythic only). Approximately 3 drop per kill. For 20 people. Do the math. |
A shadowy beast awarded for mastery across the entire Midnight raid roster. The mount of someone who has no remaining hobbies. |
Achievement: Glory of the Midnight Raider: complete all raid meta-achievements across The Dreamrift, Voidspire, and March on Quel'Danas. |
Ashes of Belo'ren: This is the expansion's prestige mount: Midnight's equivalent of Invincible or the original Ashes of Al'ar. It is Mythic-only, drops 3 per kill, and it is reportedly breathtaking. Your guild loot council will be completely drama-free about it. We believe in them.

Season 1 PvP has launched. Mounts have been gated behind rated activity. Gladiator players are flexing their Goredrake in Silvermoon already. Normal people are still queuing random battlegrounds and wondering why this doesn't count.
Mount |

Rated PvP seasonal mount: win enough rated matches as Alliance during Season 1. |

Yes, the main story campaign gives you mounts. Yes, they're legitimately good. No, this is not a trick: Blizzard sometimes just gives you things for playing the game and this expansion is surprisingly generous in that regard.
Mount |

Quest Source |
A resplendent charger, relinquished by its previous owner who made some poor narrative decisions. It's yours now. |
Quest: Relinquishing Relics in Eversong Woods. |

Quest: From Darkness, Light: late campaign quest reward. |
Midnight rotates through world events on a weekly cadence. The Abundance event is the first major one: it runs in Quel'Thalas and drops Unalloyed Abundance currency. Spend it at Chel the Chip, who sets up shop near Abundance cavern entrances across the zone. Two mounts at 1,600 each. Budget accordingly.
Mount |
Description |
Cost & Vendor |
A sun-kissed Amani feathered mount of tremendous plumage. The trolls, it turns out, have excellent taste when not cursing things. |
Chel the Chip: 1,600 Unalloyed Abundance. Available during Abundance event. |

A blessed tunneling creature from the Amani's sacred earth. It digs through the ground and your event schedule. |
Chel the Chip: 1,600 Unalloyed Abundance. Available during Abundance event. |
The Prey System is Midnight's flagship new open-world feature. Operated by Astalor Bloodsworn out of Murder Row, Silvermoon City (perfectly normal vendor location), it lets you opt into hunting dangerous void elites for Remnant of Anguish currency. Climb the Preyseeker's Journey rank ladder. Collect mounts. Consider your life choices.
Mount |

Requirement |
The entry Prey mount. "Hubris" because anyone who hunts void nightmares for currency has some. |
Vendor: Construct V'anore in Silvermoon City: 2,000 Remnant of Anguish. Requires Preyseeker's Journey Rank 5. |
The upgraded Prey mount. You've moved past hubris into full wrath territory. |
Vendor: Construct V'anore: 2,000 Remnant of Anguish. Requires Preyseeker's Journey Rank 10. |
The final Prey mount. It's the name, the difficulty tier, and the feeling of earning it. Beautifully on-brand. |
Achievement: Prey: Nightmare Mode III: defeat every Prey target in Nightmare difficulty. You signed up for this voluntarily. |
Several mounts reward exploration, collection, and zone mastery achievements. The beauty here is permanence: no seasonal FOMO, no weekly gates, just you slowly ticking boxes at your own pace like a civilized adult who has made peace with their hobby.
Mount |

An ivory Harandar jungle cat. The Haranir's most distinguished mount and your reward for inviting them to join the Alliance or Horde. |

A shadow entity that has become your mount. It philosophically guides you. To more mounts. |
Insurmountable Collection: the meta-collector achievement. Collect enough Midnight mounts to prove you have no other hobbies. |
One confirmed profession mount exists in Midnight. It is from fishing. In the Voidstorm zone. You cast your line into oceanic vortices of void energy and wait for a drake to bite. This is a real thing that exists in this video game.
Mount |
Description |
How to Obtain |
A drake dragged from the depths of a Void-infused oceanic vortex. It smells like the abyss and flies like a champion. |
Fish Oceanic Vortices in Voidstorm until it drops. No confirmed drop rate. Bring snacks. And more snacks. Bring a chair. |
Every new Midnight mount supports Skyriding natively. Steady flight is still available, but Midnight actively encourages you to skyrail through Eversong at 300% speed and dive-bomb Voidstorm zones like a caffeinated raven. The Crimson Dragonhawk from the Glyph Hunter achievement is widely considered Midnight's signature skyriding mount: a stunning red dragonhawk earned by collecting all Skyriding Glyphs across all four zones. Install HandyNotes: Midnight. It tracks every glyph, every rare, every treasure. It is the addon you did not know you needed and now cannot live without.
Welcome to WoW: Midnight. Xal'atath has invaded Quel'Thalas, the Sunwell hangs in the balance, and you have 45+ mounts to acquire across raids, dungeons, Delves, world events, renown tracks, a moth-collection subsystem, PvP seasons, and oceanic vortex fishing in an actively hostile Void hurricane.
The mounts are, genuinely, some of the most beautiful Blizzard has ever designed. Hawkstriders, dragonhawks, bears, grimlynxes, sporegliders, stormrays, a fishing drake: Midnight's art team put in real work. Blizzard has, accordingly, distributed them across every possible content pillar to ensure you engage with everything.
Practical order of priority: grab the time-limited pre-patch mounts immediately (Retrained Skyrazor and Light-Forged Mechsuit disappear at launch), then knock out the 15-minute exploration mounts, work your renown tracks in parallel, and pace yourself on the Prey system and Mythic raids. The Ashes of Belo'ren will be there. Probably. If your guild stays together for more than three weeks. We believe in you.
Good luck in Quel'Thalas. Don't stare into the Voidstorm too long. The void stares back, and it has a 3% drop rate.

Quel'Thalas is back, and so is the mount grind! Prepare to lose your sanity collecting 45 new rides in WoW Midnight. Say goodbye to grass!

Quel'Thalas is back, and so is the mount grind! Prepare to lose your sanity collecting 45 new rides in WoW Midnight. Say goodbye to grass!

Patch 12.0 launches with exactly 45 brand-new mounts. You can earn them through raids, PvP, the new Prey system, Delves, and open-world grinds.
Yes! The Retrained Skyrazor and Light-Forged Mechsuit are exclusive to the pre-patch Twilight Ascension event. Once Midnight launches, they are gone forever.
The Ashes of Belo'ren is a breathtaking phoenix dropping from the Mythic March on Quel'Danas raid. Only three drop per twenty-player kill. Expect drama.
Yes, four mounts take under 15 minutes to unlock, including the Untainted Grove Crawler and Ancestral War Bear, mostly found via open-world treasures.
It is an optional open-world feature where you hunt void elites. Rank up your Preyseeker's Journey to unlock three hubris-fueled nightmare mounts.
