Dancing Mad Ultimate Guide: FFXIV Patch 7.51 DMU
Patch 7.51 drops Auxesia: FFXIV's fourth and final Cosmic Exploration planet. Forest zone, Red Alerts, Mech Ops, new Stellar Missions. Full guide...
Auxesia is the fourth and final Cosmic Exploration planet, dropped in patch 7.51 alongside Dancing Mad (Ultimate): because Square Enix loves watching raiders and crafters suffer simultaneously. It lives in The Sea of Stars, and you unlock it on Oizys after finishing the quest Memory's Orbit. No, you cannot skip the other three planets. Yes, someone will ask anyway.
Like its predecessors, Auxesia is a server-wide progression zone. The entire playerbase collectively builds infrastructure: fast travel, new areas, new missions: by completing Stellar Missions, FATEs, and other activities. The forests are initially barren. Your contribution is a rounding error. Do it anyway.
Auxesia is described as a forest world. The official site tells you to "pack your pruning shears." If that makes you feel things, this content was designed for you specifically.
Requirements are mercifully short. You need a Disciple of the Hand or Land at level 10 or above. Then you need to have completed the quest Memory's Orbit on Oizys: meaning you've already suffered through the previous three planets. Talk to the quest-starter NPC on Oizys. Coordinates TBD because Square Enix enjoys mystery.
Stellar Missions are the backbone of your Cosmic Exploration grind. They exist in three flavors that all ultimately mean "do crafting/gathering, get currency." Your Exotablet: the in-zone menu nobody reads: manages all of it.

Five-minute window. Don't mess up the prereq. It requires gold every time. |

Best rewards. 20-minute window. Drop everything when one fires. |
Completing missions earns Cosmocredits (universal) and a zone-specific credit used for Cosmic Fortune spins or Mech Ops pilot applications. Gold rank pays more. Aim for gold. Don't aim for participation.
If you abandon a Stellar Mission, you receive zero rewards regardless of how far you got. The game does not care about your effort.
Red Alerts are rare, server-specific 20-minute weather events. When one fires, Critical Missions unlock: the most rewarding content in the zone. The sky darkens. Everyone with a Discord notification scrambles. This is the correct response.
On Auxesia, Lefleda provides instant teleport to Red Alert mission locations when one is active. Use her. Running on foot to a Critical Mission is a personal failing. During a Red Alert, Stellar Sprint: a 50% movement speed toggle with no cooldown: applies automatically when you start a mission. There is no excuse.
Mech Ops is a special event that spawns randomly in the zone. You pay 1,000 zone-specific credits via Alerot for a pilot application, then play what amounts to a giant robot mission while ground-support players assist. It is, against all odds, enjoyable.
Completing Mech Ops rewards you with Cosmocredits, experience points, a buff for subsequent Stellar Missions, and a Big Bang Ticket: a better version of the Cosmic Fortune gacha spin. Two Cosmic Fortune paths exist: the base 1,000-credit spin and the Big Bang Ticket. Both are gacha. Both will disappoint you. The Vacuum Suit drops here too, as a rare reward.
Mech Ops on Auxesia uses Battle 1 from FINAL FANTASY IV and The Airship as its two combat tracks. This is the only cultural content in the zone and it slaps.
Ground support players can teleport directly to the Mech Ops mission area by speaking with Alerot. There is no reason to miss this. Alerot is right there.
Auxesia, like all Cosmic Exploration zones, develops over time through collective server effort. As the Infrastructure Index advances, the zone gains a fast travel system (Cosmoliner), new explorable areas, and additional missions. Early stage Auxesia is a large undeveloped forest. Later stages unlock what those areas actually are.
FATEs in Auxesia are limited-time: each one disappears permanently after a successful server completion tied to a development milestone. Miss them and they're gone. They are not coming back. This is intentional.

There are two economies running simultaneously and you will mix them up constantly. Cosmocredits are the universal cross-planet currency: spend them on gear, furnishings, dyes, and grade 11/12 DoH/DoL materia. Auxesia credits are zone-specific and spent only on Cosmic Fortune spins or Mech Ops pilot tickets. Earn the latter by doing everything; the former by ranking gold.

Auxesia's main theme plays throughout normal exploration. FATEs get Carrots of Passion. Red Alerts get Carrots of Happiness (Forge Ahead). The Mech Ops pilot cutscene plays Hey, Cid! before you're dropped into FFIV battle music. The naming convention for "Carrots" tracks is unexplained and presumably intentional. It remains funnier than most of Dawntrail's writing.

Yes. Complete Memory's Orbit on Oizys first. The previous planets are not optional skips.
You get nothing. Zero rewards. The mission does not care about sunk costs. Neither should you.
Watch the skies: they darken. Use Discord notifiers or third-party tools. Missing one is a personal choice.
Yes. Mech Ops gives credits, a Big Bang Ticket, and a buff. Fortune gives a spin. Do the math.
No. Each FATE disappears permanently after successful completion at a milestone. Miss it, lose it.
