Fortnite Season 3.5: Hot Bat Summer Guide & Patch Notes

Fortnite Season 3.5 ditched the family-friendly branding and dropped its most revealing skins yet, alongside a working Batmobile, a hidden Batcave, and a mechanic that lets multiple squads win the same match. This is everything Fortnite Chapter 7 just changed, minus the wasted words.

The season is called Hot Bat Summer, and it centers on a DC collaboration built around Batman, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy. Each got a beach redesign, three became map bosses, and Batman got an entire hidden POI carved out for him. Bruce Wayne is also playable unmasked for the first time in the game's history.

New DC Skins and Bosses

Ace the Bathound joins as a free sidekick with two styles and an emote where he decapitates the Joker, because subtlety was never Gotham's strength. Follow the bat symbol on the map to find the hidden Batcave, packed with villain cells, bat-themed surfboards, and the new Fortnite Batmobile, the first new vehicle since the DeLorean.

The Battle Bus can now turn around mid-match and extract your entire squad for a Victory Royale, meaning multiple teams can win the same regular Battle Royale match for the first time ever. You still have to grapple onto it, because Epic isn't handing out wins for free, just cheaper ones.

New Sprites

Fortnite sprites got five new additions this update, each pulling loot-pool weight in its own way.

• The Batman Sprite lets you deploy the cape mid-air and grants glider redeploy while equipped.
• The Seven Sprite reveals enemy footprints for your whole squad.
• The Air Sprite removes fall damage, boosts sprint speed, and increases jump height as you level it.
• The Vinicius Sprite makes slide kicks reload your weapon faster and speeds up fire rate.
• The Boiyo Sprite gives your whole squad shield siphon for ten seconds after a kill.

Vinicius and Boiyo only drop from relic chests, so good luck if you were hoping to just find one lying in the open like a normal item. Part three of the sprite mastery quest line is live too, rewarding extraction boosters, a void blade frame, sprite locators, and a themed umbrella.

Two devices were added alongside the sprites. The sprite locator tracks berry chests and guarantees a sprite you don't already own. The extraction site booster brings a special pod down for bonus dust, but it marks your position on the map for everyone, so use it if you enjoy being hunted.

Weapons

The Fortnite Bank Shot Pistol is exactly as chaotic as it looks, ricocheting off walls and doing more build damage the higher its rarity climbs. Midas Flopper and Spicy Fish were also vaulted, so stop looking for them.

Marvel Teaser and Other Collabs

A mural at Battlewood teases a Spider-Man collab tied to his upcoming film, hinting at a Punisher skin and the return of web shooters later this month. Separately, the Cosmic Titan skin brings back the Galaxy design with a matching dog sidekick, and The Odyssey adds two outfits based on the film's leads, dropping the same night as the update.

Map Changes

• Calamari Canyon is slowly flooding as a nearby factory dumps ice back into the cove.
• The duck boat at Cluster Cove relocated to Heatwave Harbor.
• The rock stack POI grew a third rock thanks to the ongoing community vote button.

Weekend Events

Fortnite Shiny Hours runs this weekend and spawns everyone with a free Batman grapple gun and self revive, while boosting spawn rates for gold, gummy, galaxy, and holofoil sprite variants. Sunday brings Final Kickoff for the World Cup, adding the Striker Sprite and the first new soccer ball toy since Chapter 1.

Free rewards this update include a mobile login skin, a universal Dane sidekick for every player, and a bee sidekick that looks charming until you notice its haircut. Box fights quests now demand 750 wins for the final reward, more than double the previous grind, so pace yourself or accept a slow miserable crawl toward a pickaxe.

Five more Fortnite Season 3.5 skins are confirmed for the shop over the next 14 days: Obsidian King, Ivory Queen, Galaxon, a metalhead Meowscles, and at least one still hidden in the game files.
