Patch 1.1 is here: Kord Breach season, a gutted Kappa path, Unity 6 performance gains, and reworked tasks. Here's everything confirmed so far.

Escape from Tarkov patch 1.1 is BSG's attempt to convince you that the six month suffering cycle still has meaning. It bundles a new season, a rewritten Kappa path, and an engine upgrade nobody asked for out loud but everybody wanted. Below is what is confirmed, what is guessed, and what you should stop panicking about.
Kord Breach is Kord Breach season 1, BSG's polite replacement for the word wipe, since apparently telling people you erased their progress was bad for retention. It launches with patch 1.1 in July, runs a minimum of 74 days, and is opt in. Your permanent character does not get touched. If you skip it entirely, nothing happens to you, which is the least dramatic thing BSG has shipped in years.
The Black Division is also getting attention on PvE Labs, since currently the AI version of this faction slaughters the entire PMC lobby before you get a chance to, turning the final achievement task into a solo suicide mission. A fix is planned. A date is not.
After patch 1.1 you get a seasonal PvP profile stacked alongside your regular PvP and PvE profiles. That is three characters total if you own PvE. No, your PvE progress is not resetting. No, you do not need to delete anything. Anyone telling you otherwise is either misinformed or enjoys watching people cry.
Since the 1.0 launch on November 15, 2025, Tarkov no longer performs a traditional full server wipe. Your PMC, stash, hideout, and Kappa progress persist indefinitely in both PvP and PvE, season or no season.
The Kappa container unlock is getting gutted and rebuilt. The old sprawl of side tasks is being trimmed down to almost nothing, replaced by a demand for loyalty and reputation grinding instead. Here is the new shape of the Collector quest prerequisites.
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Trader loyalty | Level 4 with every trader |
| Fence reputation | 3.0 scav karma minimum |
| Character level | 40, though level 4 Ragman alone already demands level 42 |
| Chemical Part 4 | Complete |
| A Shooter Born In Heaven | Complete |
| The Tarkov Shooter Part 4 | Complete |
| So Good Part 4 | Complete |
The Tarkov Kappa requirements used to mean clearing roughly 257 quests across eight traders and handing Fence dozens of Found in Raid items. Now it means grinding loyalty levels while doing a handful of tasks you could technically finish by level 30. If you were already close under the old system, you are about to finish faster than you expected.
One casualty of this rework, the current Kappa Path achievement disappears once Kord Breach begins. Get it the old way before patch 1.1 lands, or accept that BSG has replaced your bragging rights with a new one nobody has seen yet.
The reworked task system is aimed at gutting RNG dependent objectives. Item hunts that used to depend on random loot spawns should now progress after enough raids regardless of luck. The truly grindy tasks, meaning most of them, are getting trimmed or eased. Group play also finally gets shared kill credit on select tasks, so three people no longer have to argue over who actually landed the killing blow on Killa.
Unity 6 Tarkov performance testing on the test server already shows measurable improvements, which is notable mainly because every previous engine promise from BSG has historically underdelivered. Alongside it comes a rebalanced insurance system with faster return times, an easier early hideout grind, improved beginner assistance packages, continued Streets of Tarkov optimization, and AI behavior fixes that will be judged only once players start dying to them again.
Officially, patch 1.1 and Kord Breach are scheduled for the end of July. Historically, BSG dates slide, and a push into early August would surprise nobody who has followed this game longer than a single season. A late patch that works is preferable to an on time patch that does not, though BSG's track record on that tradeoff is mixed at best.
The bigger picture here matters more than the exact date. This is the first major content wave since the underwhelming 1.0 transition, and the closest thing to the old wipe excitement Tarkov has had in two years. Whether it delivers is, as always, a question only the servers on launch day can answer.

No. Your permanent PvP and PvE profiles stay untouched. Only the new seasonal profile starts fresh.
Officially end of July with patch 1.1, though BSG delays are common and an August slip wouldn't surprise anyone.
Trader loyalty level 4, Fence reputation 3.0, character level 40, and four remaining quests instead of dozens.
No. It disappears once Kord Breach begins, so finish it beforehand if you want it.
