The Beacon arrives as a replacement for the Cartesian Coordinate that's been rotting in your vault, and it brings a perk pool that practically screams “dungeon and raid boss food.” The Beacon as a sustained single-target DPS machine is the main pitch here. It’s solar, which means it surge-matches with whatever solar heavy you're already running. Good. Now let's get to the rolls.

Column 3: Pick Rewind Rounds. Stop Thinking.

Rewind Rounds, Overflow, and Envious Arsenal are all playing in the same sandbox: avoid the reload. Overflow requires adding kills mid-mag, Envious Arsenal requires kills on other weapons first. Both have hoops. Rewind Rounds has no hoops. You dump the entire magazine into a boss face and — because fusion rifle shots are multi-hit — the rewind proc overloads itself repeatedly. It’s genuinely close in effectiveness and considerably more comfortable to use on encounters where weapon swapping is a pain. It’s not wrong to grab this roll as a secondary option.

Deconstruct is the side note worth mentioning purely because when a vehicle boss shows up, its 40% damage buff against constructs and vehicles is staggering. Don’t build your loadout around it. Do keep a roll with it if a vehicle encounter becomes relevant in future content.

The Beacon will output reliable damage for over 30 seconds straight. That's the pitch. It's also future-proof — if particle accelerator returns, if fusions get buffed, this weapon appreciates in value without costing you anything now.

The name is Greek for thunderbolt and the frame archetype is Keraunios arc trace rifle, which should tell you everything about expectations. Keraunios trace rifle might just be the weapon type that puts you off grinding for it — and to be fair, trace rifles remain a deeply niche category that most content doesn’t reward. But there are two legitimate reasons to grind this thing, and one of them is more interesting than the usual “hold button on interactable” argument.

Use Case One: The Utility Placeholder (Yes, It’s Fine, Stop Rolling Your Eyes)

Trace rifles shoot interactables and buttons in an ammo-efficient way. This is why they exist in high-level PvE encounters with mechanics. With all raids and dungeons getting reprises soon, there are numerous encounters where the Keraunios shoot to loot utility roll becomes genuinely valuable. Keraunios shoot to loot lets you scoop orbs and ammo bricks before a DPS phase, at which point you swap to something that actually deals damage. The perk explosions from Column 4 — Detonator Beam or Chain Reaction — will also trigger on interactables and scoop nearby drops. This is not exciting content. It is however effective content.

Use Case Two: Fourth Time’s the Charm Makes It a Real Weapon

Keraunios fourth times a charm is the more interesting roll, and the one that transforms this from a glorified button-presser into something you’d actually keep in a loadout. Four precision hits refills two ammo from thin air. Repeat. A 1000 RPM trace rifle hits crits effortlessly, the loop reactivates continuously, and your total effective reserves roughly double if you’re hitting your shots. You’re not “using a trace rifle for utility.” You’re using a trace rifle as a weapon that sustains itself.

Pair this with Jolting Feedback for an arc build, where Jolt activates per hit at 1000 RPM — meaning it gets active fast at 17 shots baseline, 13 while Amplified. The honest take: Trace rifles need a buff and probably know it. This is an aggressive, run-and-gun, get-close-and-punch-something weapon. If that description makes you uncomfortable, you’re equipping the wrong gun.

Column 3: The Melee Pipeline or The Crystal Factory

For melee-focused builds: Grave Robber in Column 3 skips the reload entirely on elemental melee hits. Bonk Titan. Slide Warlock. You know the builds. Free reloads from punching things is peak Guardian experience and it works here without complaint.

Triple laureate crystalline corpse bloom is the more inventive option: weapon kills grant Crystalline Corpsebloom, and kills during the buff spawn Stasis crystals near targets. Those crystals freeze nearby enemies, and frozen enemies take double melee damage. The loop closes itself. You kill, freeze, punch harder. It is satisfying in a way that spreadsheets cannot fully express.

Column 4: You Already Know It’s Chaos Reshaped

The first perk people spotted on this weapon is the right one to chase. Triple laureate chaos reshaped is the reason this weapon is worth the grind. 35% weapon damage buff after sustained combat plus passive healing. The year tide Apex replacement conversation starts here — same perk, same energy, same close-quarters aggression. Unlike Frenzy, there’s no built-in reload buff, so pair with Alloy Mag or lean into Grave Robber to sidestep the issue.

One-Two Punch is Column 4’s melee-damage alternative: hit all pellets, increase melee damage for a short window. On a Bonk Titan with proper melee stats and mods, this multiplies damage sufficiently that it often outperforms Chaos Reshaped outright. Pick your poison based on whether you want weapon damage or melee damage amplified.

Where it sees play: Bonk Titan. Slide Warlock. Any melee-adjacent build that wanted a year tide Apex replacement in the kinetic slot and didn’t get one until now. Lucky Pants hunters get extra mileage from the hand cannon classification. Stasis Loader mods make the already-fast handling even faster. This is a strong year tide Apex replacement and a better situation to be in than most players expected from a Guardian Games drop.
