09 June, 2026

Monument of Triumph is Destiny 2's final live-service content update, dropping June 9, 2026. Bungie called it a cleanup pass. The patch notes ran 71 pages. Destiny 2 Monument of Triumph exotic weapons alone see 28 changes: reworks, buffs, perk overhauls, and 25 new catalysts for weapons that never had one. Bungie is closing the door. They chose to sand the edges first.
We have CRINGEBLOG promocode, which helps you to get every weapon for almost free. use it wisely!
This tier list is built entirely around the Monument of Triumph sandbox. Pre-MoT performance is irrelevant. If a weapon was reworked, that version is the one being judged.

Weapon Category / Element |
Weapon Name |
Description / Patch Impact |
Role & Status |
|
S Tier (Meta) |
Sword: Solar |
The Lament |
Previous nerf reversed roughly 70%. Back to being the highest single-target DPS sword in the game. If you unequipped it after the nerf, re-equip it. |
PvE (Nerf Reverted) |
|
Heavy Grenade Launcher: Arc |
Anarchy |
Trap duration +50%. Trap damage +30%. You fire once. You switch weapons. Anarchy does the work. Anarchy buff Monument of Triumph is the best passive damage buff in the patch. |
PvE (Buffed) |
|
|
Linear Fusion Rifle: Solar |
Vex Mythoclast |
Precision kills with linear fusion shots now trigger Solar Ignitions. Was already strong. Ignitions in Solar builds are free Warmind Cell equivalents. The buff is not subtle. |
PvE + PvP (Buffed) |
|
|
Exotic Machine Gun: Arc |
Heir Apparent |
Returns via Monument of Triumph reward track. Arc shield on activation. Hard suppression. The weapon Bungie chose to reintroduce for the final update tells you something about its ceiling. |
PvE (Returning Exotic) |
|
|
Rocket Launcher: Void |
Truth |
Full rework. Land all rounds in a magazine; the next fires with dramatically increased rate of fire, tracking strength, and cluster bombs. Truth rework MoT turns a novelty into a finisher. |
PvE (Reworked) |
|
|
A Tier (Strong) |
Scout Rifle: Kinetic |
Jade Rabbit |
Magazine to 15. Firefly added. Shoot to Loot added. Catalyst converts Fate of All Fools stacks into a Micro Missile. They clearly felt guilty about this weapon for nine years. |
PvE (New Catalyst) |
|
Bow: Void |
Le Monarque |
Bows received the largest damage buff of any weapon class this patch. Le Monarque was already the most irritating weapon in Crucible. The PvE numbers are now serious. Both modes. |
PvE + PvP (Indirect Buff) |
|
|
Hand Cannon: Kinetic |
Crimson |
New catalyst adds To the Pain, which boosts damage when critically wounded. Heal-on-kill finally has an aggressive option to pair with. Solo content answer. |
PvE (New Catalyst) |
|
|
Trace Rifle: Arc |
Divinity |
Penance activation window tightened. You need to actually hit the cage now. Still the best raid debuff tool in the game: just a slightly worse one for people with poor aim, which is most people. |
PvE Raids (Nerfed/Adjusted) |
Global sandbox changes that affect every exotic: Exotic primaries get +40% damage vs minor combatants. All primaries get +30%. Bows receive an additional +20% vs minors and +40% vs majors. Anti-Champion is now frame-intrinsic: no artifact dependency. Every exotic has a catalyst.
Functional. Not builds. Some got catalysts. New perks do not always mean new identity.

Verdict |
|
Outbreak Perfected |
Pulse Rifle: Kinetic |
B |
+40% exotic primary buff |
SIVA nanite DPS still works. Base damage now better. Not a build anchor. |
|
Thorn |
Hand Cannon: Void |
B |
+40% exotic primary buff |
PvP poison unchanged. PvE improved. Catalyst required for A-tier play. |
|
Trinity Ghoul |
Bow: Arc |
B |
Bow global buff |
Chain lightning add-clear. Bows buffed 40% vs majors. Worth picking up again. |
|
Graviton Lance |
Pulse Rifle: Void |
B |
New catalyst (unrevealed) |
Cosmology chain explosions + Void build synergy. Catalyst unknown: may move up. |
|
Merciless |
Fusion Rifle: Solar |
B |
Catalyst + Heal Clip |
Heal Clip on a fusion rifle is strange. It works. Niche remains niche. |
|
Ace of Spades |
Hand Cannon: Kinetic |
B |
+40% exotic primary buff |
Memento Mori in PvP unchanged. PvE slightly better. Still a Crucible weapon. |
|
Hard Light |
Auto Rifle: Kinetic |
C |
New catalyst |
Switchable element. New catalyst helps. Still an auto rifle at its core. |
|
Skyburner's Oath |
Scout Rifle: Solar |
C |
New catalyst |
Bonus damage to Cabal. Cabal are not the whole game. |
|
Mida Multi-Tool |
Scout Rifle: Kinetic |
D |
New catalyst |
A Year 1 museum exhibit. The catalyst cannot resolve the identity crisis. |

Sturm |
Hand Cannon: Arc |

New catalyst |
Requires Drang in the kinetic slot. Nobody builds around this. Stop asking. |
Starting with Monument of Triumph, anti-champion intrinsic weapons Destiny 2 are no longer a seasonal artifact mechanic. Champion stun capability is now built into every weapon based on frame archetype. No activation requirements. No swapping mods seasonally. Exotic weapons that previously couldn't contribute to Champion strategies in endgame content are now valid picks. Artifact mods are disabled in Competitive Crucible and Trials but remain active everywhere else. This change alone expands the viable exotic pool by a third.
Rocket Pulse Rifles nerfed: Reduced damage, reduced blast radius, reduced Super generation. If your current loadout is built around a rocket pulse exotic, Monument of Triumph does not care about your feelings.
Every exotic in the game now has a catalyst. Bungie confirmed 25 new ones and 9 upgrades to existing stat-only catalysts. The previewed examples: Jade Rabbit catalyst Monument of Triumph, Crimson's To the Pain, Merciless' Heal Clip: suggest the team was aiming for actual perk utility rather than stat padding. The remaining 16 were deliberately held back pre-launch.
The final live-service content update, launching June 9, 2026. Destiny 2 remains playable: Bungie simply stops developing new content after this.
28 weapons directly adjusted. Every exotic receives a catalyst. 25 brand-new, 9 existing ones upgraded with real perks instead of stats.
