Buildables were new to zombies here, and TranZit has more of them than any other map in Black Ops 2. Collect parts, build the thing, and pray a teammate doesn't steal your turbine the moment you set it down. This is co-op after all, and greed is part of the experience.

Power and the Bank

Turning on the power requires assembling a lever, a zombie hand, and a power board at the Power Plant. Power unlocks perks, traps, and street lighting, which sounds cozy until you remember the traps mostly just annoy zombies rather than kill them. Pack a punch tranzit style requires two doors blown open with explosives, a turbine placed near a lightning bolt symbol, and then the machine itself built from scattered parts. Yes, this means you need explosives, a turbine, and patience, three things most solo players run out of simultaneously.

The Bank sits in Town and lets you deposit or withdraw points between games. Blow the door with a grenade, grab the two keys inside, and stop pretending you'll remember which key does what next time you play.

Denizens spawn behind you in the fog and climb onto your head, and once they're up there only melee weapons can remove them. Ignore this fact and you will die confused, wondering why your gun stopped working on the thing gnawing your skull.

The tranzit easter egg is called Tower of Babble, and it splits into two paths depending on which voice you decide to trust, Doctor Maxis or Richtofen. Neither voice has your best interests at heart, but at least one of them is honest about it. The tower of babble easter egg rewards you with a permanent power up spawn point at the Pylon in the corn maze, plus an achievement that most players never earn because the map's reputation scares them off before they try.

1. Two players grab turbines from the Bus Depot and build the power switch before Maxis demands it shut off again.

2. Build the Nav Table and head into the corn maze to trigger the Avogadro by killing the last zombie under active lightning.

3. Place two turbines beneath the Pylon while the tower charges, then lure the Avogadro directly underneath it.

4. Complete the remaining voice-directed steps depending on whether you sided with Maxis or Richtofen.

5. Collect your reward and brag about it, since almost nobody else bothered finishing this chain.

The Jet Gun and Other Weapons

The tranzit wonder weapon here is the Thrustodyne Aeronautics Model 23, better known as the Jet Gun. It has a fifteen second ammo window and a cooldown reload, and it is built rather than bought, which means losing your parts to a greedy teammate is a genuine risk, not a joke. It also has a nasty habit of exploding on the builder if assembled incorrectly, because Treyarch's idea of a reward is occasionally also a punishment.

The 2026 PS4 and PS5 Port

As of July 2026, TranZit is available again through the black ops 2 ps5 port, released July 9 alongside the original Black Ops. This is a straight port, not a remaster. No new textures, no FOV slider, no 120 FPS, same jank you remember. The base game costs forty dollars, discounted to twenty through August 6, 2026, and the season pass covering all four DLC map packs is sold separately for thirty dollars.
