Die Rise zombies guide is live: perks, Sliquifier build, Trample Steam, both High Maintenance Easter Egg paths, and every secret worth knowing.

Welcome to the Die Rise zombies map, Treyarch's love letter to acrophobia. Two collapsed Shanghai skyscrapers, connected by mattresses that apparently double as OSHA-approved safety equipment. You will fall. You will die. The map wants this. Below is everything you need to survive, hoard perks, and unlock the map's big achievement without crying too much.
Victis (Marlton, Misty, Russman, and Stuhlinger) find themselves in the ruins of Shanghai, in buildings that used to house actual civilians before the apocalypse redecorated. Verticality is the whole gimmick here — broken elevator shafts, thin hallways, and drops that end careers. Bring a friend, or bring low self-esteem, either works.
Every Perk-a-Cola machine (except one) plays musical chairs inside the elevators each match. Quick Revive always spawns in the Spawn Room elevator — the one mercy this map grants you.
| Perk | Effect | Cost | Location Logic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quick Revive | Faster self/ally revives | 500 / 1500 | Fixed: Spawn Room elevator |
| Speed Cola | Faster reloads and barrier repair | 3000 | Random elevator, Spawn building |
| Who's Who | Revive yourself via doppelganger | 2000 | Random elevator, Spawn building |
| Jugger-Nog | Health boost to 250 | 2500 | Random elevator, Dragon building |
| Double Tap II | +33% weapon damage | 2000 | Random elevator, Dragon building |
| Mule Kick | Carry a third weapon | 4000 | Random elevator, Dragon building |
And then there's PHD Flopper, visible through the falling spawn elevator and permanently unpurchasable. Die Rise perks locations shuffle constantly, so pack a friend to check every elevator, since you clearly can't trust the map to be helpful.
Wall-buys include the Bowie Knife, Galvaknuckles, M14, Olympia, B23R, MP5, AK74u, PDW-57, Colt M16A1, AN-94, Remington 870 MCS, SVU-AS, plus Claymores and Semtex. Die Rise wall weapons are unremarkable — the box is where the real toys live: Wonder Weapons, the RPG, Ray Gun-tier chaos, and the usual overpriced gamble machine.
The Sliquifier wonder weapon is buildable, requiring four parts scattered around the Spawn building lobby and hallway. Assemble it at the crafting table by the bottom of the escalator. It fires a gooey projectile that ragdolls anything it touches — deeply satisfying, mildly disgusting.
| Part | Common Spawn |
|---|---|
| Part 1 | Left of the left lobby statue |
| Part 2 | Left wall after the first door |
| Part 3 | Reception desk in the lobby |
| Part 4 | Right of the elevator, past the first door |
The Trample Steam buildable flings zombies (and occasionally you) skyward with great enthusiasm. Four parts spawn around the Spawn lobby; build it at the same crafting table as the Sliquifier. Useful for traversal, crowd control, and turning zombies into confetti.
Do not attempt the Easter Egg on Easy difficulty. Easy mode silently disables every Easter Egg step on this map, so you can grind for an hour before realizing the game was never going to reward you. Treyarch's idea of a joke.
Fire Sale. all boxes light up, cost drops to 10 points
Carpenter. rebuilds every barrier instantly
Max Ammo. full ammo for the squad
Double Points. self-explanatory, act fast
Insta-Kill. one shot, one kill, any weapon
Nuke. wipes the current zombie wave
Completing the Die Rise Easter Egg earns you the High Maintenance achievement and, if you pull it off, every available perk except PHD Flopper (because of course). This requires four players on Original difficulty and a full commitment to either Richtofen or Maxis. Betray one, and the other still trusts you next round — Treyarch's concession to your indecision.
The Richtofen Die Rise walkthrough begins after turning on the power. Build the Sliquifier, then unload 20 rounds into each of the two lobby statues — forty shots total, because Richtofen enjoys watching you waste ammo. Grab Trample Steams and place them on the four golden symbols so they face the radio tower on the roof. Each correctly placed symbol plays a Richtofen quote — miss one and the whole sequence resets. Finish by using the Galvaknuckles on the pylon in the correct order. Pylon glows blue. Congratulations, you served evil.
The Maxis Die Rise walkthrough takes a gentler, equally tedious route. All four players stand on golden ring symbols atop four elevators simultaneously — falling off kills you, naturally. Then solve a symbol matching sequence, find eight Mahjong tiles marking North, East, South, and West, and translate them correctly. North faces the Trample Steam room, West faces the sun — figure out the rest yourselves, Maxis isn't holding your hand. Punch the radio tower bars with the Galvaknuckles in the correct order. Pylon glows orange. You served the ghost in a computer instead. Upgrade.
Find three teddy bears (near the SVU-AS, the upside-down Buddha room, and the power switch) to trigger "We All Fall Down" by Kevin Sherwood — a fittingly grim soundtrack for a map built entirely on falling. Knife an armored zombie on Round 1 and it survives two hits instead of the usual one, a first for the series and a small act of cruelty. Die, and listen closely: footsteps and a slamming cell door tease Mob of the Dead, the map coming next.

Always in the Spawn Room elevator, unlike every other randomized perk machine.
No. It's visible through the falling elevator but permanently unpurchasable — pure tease.
Four players, and it must be done on Original difficulty, not Easy.
The Sliquifier, a buildable goo-launcher assembled from four scattered parts.
Maxis' side is confirmed canon in the official Zombies timeline.
