The BO7 Season 4 meta currently rewards high-mobility SMGs on tight maps and precision ARs for anyone who has heard of "holding a lane." The DS20 Mirage and CBRS-3 are already positioning themselves as the weapons your opponents will blame for their deaths. Rightfully so.
Bottom line: If you're not running the DS20 Mirage or CBRS-3 by day three, you are the content in someone else's montage.
Weapons ranked by TTK, recoil, and the amount of self-loathing you'll feel using them. Tiers run S through D. D exists so you know what to avoid unless you hate yourself and everyone around you.

LMG |
Big mag, terrible future. LMG players know what they signed up for. |
Treyarch added four weapons at launch with more mid-season. Here's what actually matters about each, stripped of developer marketing language.
A best SMG Black Ops 7 contender on day one. Full-auto with a high-capacity magazine that reloads itself. That's not a typo. The MFS Carousel Fast Mag gives 60 rounds and auto-recharges between engagements. Well-rounded recoil, excellent range for its class. This is what Season 4 rotation looks like if you're paying attention.
The classic returns. Two-round burst at the start of each trigger pull makes this AR exceptional for high-damage openings. It's the kind of gun veterans immediately recognize and newer players underestimate. A solid A-tier pick that will likely get nerfed once the playerbase figures out the optimal build.
Semi-auto marksman rifle with high damage and great mobility: limited by first-shot recoil that will embarrass you at least once before you adjust. The Prestige attachment (15" MFS Incursion Barrel) significantly improves bullet penetration and velocity. Worth grinding if you run marksman in ranked.
A "special" weapon that fires homing rounds. Full-auto. The existence of this weapon tells you everything about where the design philosophy is right now. It has its place in Zombies and objective modes. In ranked? The BO7 ranked loadout community will have opinions, and none of them polite.
These are the best loadouts Black Ops 7 Season 4 builds for multiplayer and Warzone. Attachment choices optimize for the attachment slots they deserve.
Assault Rifle: Long Range
SMG: All Range
SMG: Close Range
SMG: Versatile
Assault Rifle: Mid Range
Assault Rifle: Mid Range
Ranked-specific note: For BO7 ranked play weapons, stick to DS20 Mirage or CBRS-3. The Grimhawk is restricted in ranked because someone at Treyarch still has a conscience.
The SG-12 Dragon's Breath shotgun received what can only be described as execution-level nerfs. Medium-range base damage dropped from 32 to 19. Pellet damage followed. The range windows were also reduced. It was a fun weapon. It is no longer a fun weapon.
On the positive side, the Black Ops 7 weapon balance patch buffed the Needle Drone and Black Hat scorestreaks, added the Iron Rain scorestreak, and overhauled the Ranked SR system. Scorestreak players rejoice; everyone else continues not to care.
New weapons launching without nerfs is tradition. Expect adjustments in the Season 4 Reloaded patch once the community spends three weeks documenting exactly how broken the CBRS-3 really is.
Every season, Call of Duty weapon tier list sites update frantically as new guns land broken and old ones get quietly adjusted. Season 4 is no different. The CBRS-3's self-rechambering magazine is a mechanic that hasn't existed in the game before; it will be discovered, abused, and patched within six weeks.
Meanwhile, the BO7 multiplayer meta in Season 3 was defined by SMG dominance on close-quarters maps and ARs holding mid-lane. Season 4 continues that pattern with the DS20 Mirage as the new long-range AR benchmark and the CBRS-3 entering the SMG slot without asking permission.
For Warzone Season 4 best guns, mobility and range both matter. The DS20 Mirage with full attachments covers both. The VST SMG is the secondary of choice: 42 rounds, damage conversion, manageable horizontal recoil after investment. Pair them and you are statistically unpleasant to play against.
Primary AR: DS20 Mirage or AN-94 / Secondary SMG: CBRS-3 or Dravec 45 / Ranked: Peacekeeper Mk1 (8 slots) or X9 Maverick / Avoid: SG-12 Dragon's Breath, MK.78, XR-3 Ion
Season 4 unlock new weapons BO7 methods follow the standard Treyarch formula. None of them require purchasing anything. All of them require time, which is a different tax.
Prestige attachments for the KRS-7.62 (the 15" MFS Incursion Barrel) require reaching the weapon's Prestige level. Build the gun first, grind the rank, attach the barrel, stop missing shots.
DS20 Mirage for AR, CBRS-3 for SMG. Run either and stop asking questions.
Yes. High damage, familiar burst mechanic. A-tier at launch, likely better once optimal attachments settle.
Nerfed into irrelevance. Base damage and pellet damage both gutted. Do not run it.
No. Restricted in ranked. Use it in Zombies or casual modes. It fires homing rounds. Enough said.
DS20 Mirage primary with full recoil and range attachments. VST SMG secondary with damage conversion kit.
