Battlefield 6 XP Farming Guide and Fresh Working Tricks 2026
BF6 Season 2 Weapon Tier List is here: every gun ranked, roasted, and explained. Stop using the AK-205. Your teammates beg you.
This guide covers every weapon in Battlefield 6 Season 2, ranked from "you will delete people so fast they'll question their internet connection" all the way down to "you may actually be gifting the enemy team health when you pull the trigger." We've compiled insights from hours of gameplay, with real analysis on fire rates, damage profiles, recoil patterns, magazine sizes, and the deeply important metric of does this thing feel good or does it feel like holding a wet sock?
We've also thrown in the CZ 3A1: the shiny new thing they added this season: because leaving it out would be journalistic malpractice.
Absolutely nothing, if we're honest. Every tier list on the internet is someone's opinion dressed up as fact. The difference is: ours is correct. We've accounted for the recent server-side hit registration improvements, the recoil smoothening updates, and most importantly, the raw vibes of each weapon. Vibes matter. Science agrees. (Science has not been asked.)
How to Read the Tiers
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: If your favorite gun got ranked lower than you'd like, the correct response is to quietly accept this, improve your gameplay, and move on. The incorrect response is to spam the comments. Both outcomes are equally entertaining for us.

SMG |
Slept on for too long. Genuinely solid. Nobody's fault but ours for ignoring it. |

AK-4D |

A skill weapon. High-level players love it. Average players: proceed with caution. |

The other exception in pistol hell. Solid secondary, actually competitive. |

Best DMR in the game. Consistent, reliable. If you get killed by a DMR, it's this one. |

Fun gun. A "vibe" pick. You won't be tryhard-sweating with it, but you'll have a good time. |

M277 |
LMG |
Really solid after recent updates. Hits hard, manageable. A big fan moment. |

A |
M250 |
LMG |
50 rounds not enough for an LMG. Would be S-tier with 100 rounds by default. Blasphemy. |
|
A |
M240 |
LMG |
Solid entry. Doesn't embarrass itself. Earns its A-tier with quiet dignity. |
|
B |
GRTBC |
AR |
Good, but needs one specific setup to shine. Lacks attachment flexibility. |
|
B |
SOR 5.56 |
AR |
Map-dependent genius. On Liberation Peak Breakthrough: unstoppable. Everywhere else: meh. |
|
B |
L85 |
AR |
Similar to SOR but more recoil, slightly harder. Could slide to C-tier and nobody would cry. |
|
B |
M87 / M1014 |
Shotgun |
Actually solid pump-actions for CQB. Empire State lobbies: their moment to shine. |
|
B |
PSR |
Sniper |
Better for distance than SV98. Still not in the Mini Scout / M210 league. |
|
B |
M39 EMR |
DMR |
Slightly inconsistent compared to the SVDM. Good, just not quite as locked in. |
|
B |
M417 A2 |
LMG |
Feels sluggish compared to M277. Reload animations could use a coffee. |

RPKM |
LMG |
Low fire rate. Slow TTK. Great for Red Sack. For regular MP: you're going to feel it. |

C |
S300 SC |
Carbine |
Super unbelievably mega mid. Has no redeeming qualities. It simply exists. Why? Unknown. |
|

M60 |
LMG |
Chunky boy. Average LMG. Not bad. Not good. It's just... there. Like beige carpet. |
|
C |
SV98 |
Sniper |
The most lacking sniper rifle. Exists. Functions. Does not impress. |
|
C |
SL9 |
SMG |
It's all right. Not great. Not chosen willingly. You know the kind. |
|
C |
PW72 |
SMG |
Great fire rate, no recoil, no damage. Like a very enthusiastic apology that fixes nothing. |
|
C |
UMG |
SMG |
Mid. Pretty mid. Nobody uses it. There are reasons for that. |
|
D |
LMR |
DMR |
Absolute butt cheeks. Do not use. Thank you. |
|
D |
GRTCPS |
DMR |
25 damage DMR. A 25-damage DMR. Your B36 in single fire does more. Why does this exist? |
|
D |
Most Pistols |
Pistol |
A gallery of disappointment. Sidearms in name only. Just use the M44 and forget these exist. |
|
F |
AK-205 |
AR |
Shoots pebbles. Heals enemies. A public service weapon for the opposing team. |
|
F |
DB12 |
Shotgun |
Hot garbage. Not the doof-doof fire-round warzone era. This is Battlefield. It does not care. |

Because knowing which AR is best is important, but knowing which SMG won't get you killed the moment someone with an SCW10 rounds a corner is arguably more important.
Beyond just "use the good guns," here are some context-dependent insights that separate people who read tier lists from people who actually use them effectively.
|
# |
Subject / Weapon |
Core Insight & Advice |
|
01 |
SOR 5.56 |
Map-dependent. Pulls 70–90+ kills on Liberation Peak Breakthrough, but is B-tier furniture everywhere else. |
|
02 |
SCW10 |
The small magazine is for balance; otherwise, it would outclass all other SMGs. Requires high shot discipline. |
|
03 |
AK-4D |
A high-skill flex weapon (often run without underbarrels). If you aren't a high-level player yet, use the B36 instead. |
|
04 |
KTS LMG |
Statistically inferior, but feels great to use. Holds 60 rounds and beams at range. |
|
05 |
GRTCPS DMR |
Terrible damage output (25 per shot). You are better off using an assault rifle in semi-auto mode. Do not use. |
|
06 |
DRS AR |
The ultimate "I win" button. Slap it on the Support class and let the gun do the work for you. |
|
07 |
Hit Reg & Netcode |
Recent improvements changed the meta entirely. Weapons like the M433 are much more consistent now. Ignore old tier lists. |
|
08 |
M44 |
The only viable one-shot headshot pistol (the M357 is a polite runner-up). All other pistols are just noise-makers. |
|
09 |
KV9 SMG |
Punishing default mag (17–23 rounds) paired with a high fire rate. Upgrading the magazine size is mandatory. |
It would be a disservice to this guide not to dedicate an entire section to the AK-205: the weapon that transcends "bad" and enters a philosophical category of its own.
"Sometimes I feel like you are helping the enemy gain health when you use the AK-205."
This is not hyperbole. The AK-205 is, in every measurable metric, a liability. It shoots what can only be described as actual pebbles: small, slow, and apparently healing projectiles that may be buffing enemies rather than damaging them. This is a hypothesis we cannot disprove.
The common defense of the AK-205 is: "But it has great precision!" And to that we say: who cares about precision if you can't deal damage? A sniper rifle with zero damage is just a very precise way to make your enemy confused for half a second. The AK-205 is that gun. It is precise. It is worthless.
Under no circumstances: not ranked, not casual, not a dare, not a YouTube challenge run: should you be loading into a match with the AK-205. There are better weapons in every category. The F-tier pistols are arguably more dangerous. Use literally anything else.
Our condolences to anyone who has already unlocked a skin for it. That is a loss we cannot help with.

There is no single best gun: there are several, and they all live in S-tier. However, if you put a gun to our head (hopefully not an AK-205 because that wouldn't kill us anyway), we'd say the B36 for ARs due to its universal applicability across every map and mode, and the SCW10 for SMGs due to its laser-beam consistency. For "one gun to rule them all": the DRS AR, which is borderline impossible to misuse. Pick one. Go win.
It is that bad. This is not a bit. The AK-205 is factually one of the worst weapons in the game, combining a slow fire rate, inadequate damage output, and an almost spiritual commitment to mediocrity. Its precision stat, frequently cited by its defenders, is irrelevant: precision only matters when your bullets do damage. These do not. This is not a joke. Do not use the AK-205.
Only if you're using the SVDM or SVK. These are A-tier and genuinely competitive. The M39 EMR is fine in B-tier. However, if you are eyeing the LMR or the GRTCPS, which shoots a hilarious 25 damage per bullet: please do not. You would deal more damage swapping to your sidearm. Which is saying a lot, because sidearms in this game are also largely terrible.
Marginally! The M87 and M1014 sit comfortably at B-tier for close-quarters maps: Empire State and similar CQB-heavy environments. They're harder to use and feel inconsistent at times, but skilled players absolutely get one-shots with buckshot. Do not use slugs. Do not use the DB12 under any circumstance: it is F-tier hot garbage, a relic of a different era (looking at you, early Warzone) that has no business existing in this game's meta.
Yes. Unlock it immediately. The CZ 3A1 is one of the strongest new additions this season: likely S-tier or high A-tier. It's described as incredible and really fun to use, which in this game's language means "it deletes people efficiently while being enjoyable to operate." Prioritize unlocking it before you do anything else this season.
It says you are committed, possibly stubborn, and likely making peace with a KD that could be higher. C-tier guns are usable: they're not F-tier doodoo nuggets. You can win with a C-tier weapon the way you can win a footrace in formal shoes: it happens, it's respectable, and everyone watching has a lot of questions about your choices.
Because tier lists evaluate weapons holistically, not on their best-case scenario. On Liberation Peak Breakthrough specifically, the SOR is arguably god-tier due to the engagement distances and map layout. But you don't play Liberation Peak Breakthrough all day every day: or maybe you do, in which case honestly, just run SOR all the time and enjoy your 80-kill games. On most other maps, though, it fades into B-tier usefulness. Meta picks like the B36 don't need a specific map to be dominant.
Yes, significantly. The server-side improvements have made many weapons feel noticeably better: particularly the M433, which now hits much more consistently than before. This is one reason older tier lists (pre-patch) are unreliable. Slower fire rate weapons in particular benefit most from better hit registration, since those guns previously struggled to have bullets register fast enough to matter. The meta has shifted slightly because of this. Consider this guide appropriately post-patch.
We wish we had a satisfying answer. The M44 and M357 are the two pistols that justify their existence: the M44 especially, because its one-shot headshot capability makes it a genuinely threatening secondary. The rest of the pistol roster appears to have been designed by someone who has never played a video game. They are F-tier for a reason. They are not secret sleeper picks. They are just bad. We are sorry.
Fascinating. Please share your K/D ratio and the average lobby level you play in, and we'll give your disagreement the appropriate weight. Tier lists are inherently opinion-based: this one is informed by extensive gameplay, recent patch awareness, and a deep commitment to keeping you away from the AK-205. If your gun feels good in your hands: use it, enjoy it, and win with it. The tiers are a guide, not a mandate. (Except for the AK-205. That one IS a mandate. Put it down.)
